Panel and cockpit¶
PEART has three screens that are easy to confuse because they all show engagements. They do different jobs, and knowing which is which is most of understanding the interface.
Panel¶
The Panel is the portfolio home, the first thing you land on. It aggregates across all the engagements you can see: the active engagements with their coverage and findings, what needs attention (overdue retests, findings without a disposition, reports awaiting release), recent activity, and a resume strip back to the last engagement you worked. It answers "what needs me, and where do I resume", across everything.
Cockpit¶
The Cockpit is the execution screen for one engagement, a three-panel shell: the methodology navigator on the left (steps and techniques in execution order), the technique detail in the centre, and the execution status control on the right where you record coverage. It is where the pentester actually works the methodology, technique by technique, and creates findings as they go.
Engagement dashboard and the findings screen¶
Between the two sits the engagement dashboard, a read-only overview of one engagement (its assets, coverage, findings by severity, methodology progress, reports, team). And the findings screen is the catalogue of an engagement's findings, where you review, edit and publish them, distinct from the cockpit where you produce them.
So: the Panel is the portfolio, the engagement dashboard is one engagement at a glance, the cockpit is where you execute, and the findings screen is where you curate the outputs. Four doors, four jobs.
